Community Care manages over 40 different programs which provide care and support at the right time, in the right place. Last year we provided compassionate care to more than 7,000 residents, 68% of whom were over the age of 65. We deliver a wide range of home support, health and wellness, and hospices services across the City of Kawartha Lakes. We believe that in a healthy community, people come together to care for one an other.
To continue to respond to community needs and offer new and expanded programs, we need reliable funding streams.
One of our greatest needs is to recruit and retain volunteers. Did you know that we relied on more than 300 volunteers last year to deliver our programs and we still have vacancies to fill. It is essential to raise funds for volunteer services so we can devote time and resources to recruit, educate and retain our volunteers.
An other area of need is Subsidies. It is our goal to provide equitable and accessible care, regardless of financial situations. The economic environment has changed due to the increased cost of living and those who were once financially stable are now finding it hard to make ends meet. This has generated an increased demand for subsidies so we can offer services at a reduced rate or at no charge.
We invite you to join us in building a healthy community through care and support. Your financial donation will have a meaningful impact in the lives of people who reach out for help – maybe even your neighbour.
