Our Hospices Services team is pleased to offer a variety of additional services, including Complementary Therapy and a library, that are open to Hospice clients and caregivers. Complementary Therapies are used alongside conventional medical treatment with the goal of enhancing well-being and quality of life. Please contact Hospice Services for more information or to get registered.

Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of your body, mind and feelings in the present moment, to create a sense of calm. Meditation groups are facilitated by a trained volunteer every other Tuesday virtually from 2-3 PM.

When you think of meditation, you may initially picture someone sitting quietly cross-legged and emptying their mind. However, there is much more to meditation than just sitting in silence. Meditation is a practice that has been around for thousands of years, but the benefits of meditation are still relevant today.

Please contact our office for more information or to get registered.

We offer a six-week expressive journaling group which allows participants, with and without previous writing experience, to meet with others virtually and learn how to use this valuable tool as a form of self-care. This group is open to clients and volunteers and offers participants a safe place to be creative, understood and acknowledged.

Please contact our office for more information or to get registered.

Riverwalk is a grief walk designed to invite participants to engage with others who have experienced a loss of a loved one. You are invited to deal with the reality of life changes through walking in community.

Knowing that grief affects you on all levels – physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually – exercise offers a coping strategy and safety-net while grieving your loss.

Trained Grief Guides are available to walk alongside you and others who are also grieving.

Riverwalk is offered during the summer months and is weather permitting.

Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR Q) will be provided for registration on your first walk.

Please contact the Hospice office for further information.

Hospice Services has an extensive collection of books and videos covering a wide range of topics for all age groups, including children and teens. Such subjects include living with cancer, coping with grief and caring for a loved one. Our library items are available for clients and caregivers to borrow and take home or sit in our lovely library and read in a quiet place.
