A wide variety of affordable and nutritious hot and frozen foods are available to seniors and adults with special needs across the City of Kawartha Lakes through our Meals on Wheels program.

Our Meals on Wheels program helps ensure clients’ nutritional needs are met while also providing social interaction and a safety check from the volunteers who make the deliveries.

Meals on Wheels not only provides community members with a warm, freshly-made lunch, but a welcome check-in with our friendly team. We cook and deliver tasty, nutritious, and affordable ready-to-eat meals (including dessert!) that suit different dietary needs and preferences. Hot meal deliveries are scheduled throughout the week based on location. Hot meals cost $8.50 each, including a soup, bun, entrée and dessert.

Frozen entrees, soups and desserts are prepared by Apetito Canada and are available in regular or special diets. Special diets include gluten free, diabetic, low calorie, low fat, low sodium, vegetarian, vegan, lactose free, controlled potassium and phosphorus, and renal diets. As of April 1st 2024, entrees cost $7, while soup and dessert are $2.25 each.

Price includes delivery. Frozen meals can also be picked up at Community Care service offices located at 70 Murray Street in Fenelon Falls and 152 Angeline St N in Lindsay.
