Riverwalk is back for 2023!
Riverwalk is a grief walk designed for participants to engage with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Participants are invited to deal with the reality of life changes while taking a walk in our community. This program offers a secure and caring space to express and work through your emotions and thoughts related to grief.
Knowing that grief affects you on all levels—physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually, exercise offers a coping strategy and safety-net while grieving your loss.
Conversations flow easily, tears are shed, challenges and frustrations are shared, suggestions offered. It is 45 minutes where participants are really heard. There is no need for participants to ‘put on a brave face’ or pretend they are doing better than they are, because the volunteers and other participants know that the grief journey is long and hard.
Trained Grief Guides are available to walk alongside you and others who are also grieving.
The walks will take place every Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30am starting on May 16. The walks start at Hospice Services, 2 Kent St. W. in Lindsay, Ontario. They are free of charge and no pre-registration is required. Visit www.ccckl.ca/programs-services/hospice or call 705-879-4123 ext 553 for more information.
